Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid Overview at FARMER & CARLISLE IN LEICESTER & LOUGHBOROUGH, LEICESTERSHIRE
The Toyota Prius has set the standard for hybrids since its launch in 1997, and the new model is undoubtedly the best yet. It’s powered by a 1.8 petrol hybrid engine, which is self-charging and capable of returning 60.1 to 61.4mpg combined. It can run in pure electric mode at speeds up to 30mph, so you use no petrol pootling about. There are 4 drive modes (Normal, EV, Eco and Power) which allow you to easily prioritise efficiency, performance or get the best of both. A top spec comes as standard across Active, Business Edition, Business Edition Plus and Excel trim levels.
Prius Plug-in Hybrid Features
All models stand out with sleek LED headlights. 17” alloys are standard on Business Edition Plus models with leather upholstery on Excel models. A 7” touchscreen is standard across the range with a head-up display added on Business Edition models onwards.
The 1.8 hybrid engine provides a smooth and responsive drive. The Toyota Safety Sense 2 suite comes as standard with Auto High Beam and Adaptive Cruise Control with Road Sign Assist. The Prius is also available with optional AWD-Ii.
The Prius’s 502-litre boot is massive. So is the amount of passenger space, with plenty of room for a growing family. There’s ISOFIX points on both rear outermost seats and loads of storage cubbies for keeping your stuff safe.
Living With It
The Prius won’t just cruise for you with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Control - it’ll park for you too with Intelligent Parking Assist. These are standard features on Business Edition Plus and Excel models.
