Creative Marketing Assistant

As a Creative Marketing Assistant you will be responsible for managing marketing projects including website developments, email campaigns, printed marketing. You will be expected to design and produce graphics and images for use on websites, email campaigns, in marketing campaigns and in print. You will also be expected to be involved in the marketing function as a whole, developing and implementing the marketing plan in conjunction with the marketing team. You will be responible to the Marketing and IT Director, Jonathan Carlisle, who is in turn responsible to the Managing Director, John Carlisle.

1. Primary role:

  • Creative design: creation of graphics and images for use in print and online.
  • Development and maintenance of the company website(s): operation of the content management system to add, amend and delete content throughout the site, as well as contribute regular content to website and social environments.
  • Email marketing: creation, development, copywriting and distribution of email marketing campaigns.
  • Working to the briefs and deadlines provided, in a diligent and flexible manner, this may include working outside normal hours if necessary to achieve deadlines. Produce accurate work (following audit trail and checking procedures) suitable for release onto the website or into printed medium.
  • In conjunction with the marketing team, work on marketing planning and implementation of the marketing plan. Keep eyes and ears open to internal news and industry activity alike in order to ensure that digital media is kept up to date, relevant and interesting to target markets.

2. Secondary roles:

  • Work within the system and procedures set out by Jonathan Carlisle, Head of Group Marketing and IT.
  • Ensure your equipment and desk area are kept clean and tidy.
  • Suggest appropriate training if required.
  • Working with the marketing team, ensure the job being worked on is being produced in the best way possible, i.e. being both sympathetic to the design, suitable for the ultimate production method and work flows and as fast and efficient as possible.
  • Interact and develop good working relationships with all departments.
  • Have an awareness of new technology and be comfortable making suggestions for improving current processes.
  • Answer department phones (including absent colleagues) as quickly as possible (i.e. within three rings) and take messages when necessary.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will currently be working in marketing or as a creative and have experience in creative graphics and working on marketing campaigns. An understanding of marketing techniques, SEO, content management systems and mobile apps would be advantageous. You should have strong communication skills and a good technical understanding. If you have a strong 'can do' attitude and are looking for an opportunity where you can be challenged then could be the role you have been waiting for!

Skills and experience necessary for this role:

  • Qualifications and / or experience in creating graphics and images to a high standard.
  • Digital experience is highly advantageous.
  • The ability to delivery projects within timelines and budgets.
  • Budget management experience.
  • The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A working knowledge of web technologies, SEO and Content Management Systems would be ideal.
  • A working knowledge of social media environments such as Facebook, Twitter and Linked In would be an advantage.
  • Experience of writing copy for website and email marketing would be advantageous.
